2o Gymnasio Geraka, Athens, Greece

The 2o Gymnasio Geraka, is a Junior High School, with 410 students (aged 12-15), 40 teachers and belongs to the Municipality of Pallini at the East Attica. Gerakas is 14km from the center of Athens, 28km from Marathon and it is part of the Authentic Marathon Route.

Our school aims at involving students in extracurricular activities that broaden their knowledge and skills, by implementing Environmental, Cultural and Health Education programs every year. It also gives great emphasis on the European Dimension of Education by participating to ERASMUS+ KA2 and KA3 projects, while at the same time taking part in international networks, such as ASPnet of UNESCO, Eco-schools and Young Reporters for the Environment.

Our vision of our school is cooperation and communication with School Units, Organizations and Universities at both National, European, and International level. We have successful collaboration with several different organizations. Our school participates in five (5) European ERASMUS+ programs with 13 different Organizations, 2 European Universities, 10 schools abroad, and 11 different countries. In addition, it has established a collaboration with a Junior High School in Japan on environmental issues.

We aim at instilling at our students empathy, justice, courage, kindness, individual and collective responsibility. The cultivation of social and emotional skills of expression, communication and connection as well as the management of anger and negative emotions which may result in bullying, are our key priorities.

“Aldo Moro”, Casalnuovo, Napoli, Italy

The Comprehensive school “Aldo Moro” is in Casalnuovo di Napoli, a solar town of 45000 habitants, not far from the city of Naples (20 km). It qualifies as a center for urban aggregation by promoting cultural and social design, with the primary goal of preventing school dissipation and social disadvantages. The school population of I.C.S. “Aldo Moro” is of 1327 pupils.  The staff is approximately 180 (DS, DSGA, 140 teachers and 25 ATA personnel). People in charge of running the project will be the teachers who have coordinated some different projects, with experience in particular for activities about bullism and cyberbullism, through the use of artisitic laboratories, videomaker and creative writing (storytelling). Napolitano Loredana will be the contact person,will coordinate the staff. There are numerous projects involving our school from local, national and European ones. We currently have 4 Erasmus projects in place on different themes: violence in general, traditions, bullying and teacher training.

Židikai Marija Pečkauskaitė gymnasium, Lithuania

Židikai Marija Pečkauskaitė gymnasium is a general education school providing pre-school, primary and secondary education. There are about 250 students in school. Gymnasium teachers convey modern qualifying education, promote patriotism and creativity. OLWEUS bullying prevention program is running in our school. We take part in international projects “Sociability and handicrafts skills for the welfare of the communities in Lithuanian and Latvian border regions”, “Authors and directors with a cause: inspiring young Europeans today?”, cooperate community, other organizations. The main philosophical provision of gymnasium activities is “Rise and Raise”.

ANAMUR SECONDARY SCHOOL, Turkey

Anamur Secondary School is one of the biggest state school of Anamur/Mersin on the south coast of Turkey. Our school is the 2nd largest school in our district in terms of the number of students and teachers and hosts different cultures. There are 3 principles and 40 teachers at our school.We have 778 students aged between 11-15 . We also have nursery class students and students with special neeeds.Our school building includes 25 classrooms,1 science lab,2 technology and design classes,1 gym,1 conference hall,1 visual art class,1 music class,1 library and an archive. We aim to raise students who read,make researches,think independently,can solve problems,respectful to others’ rights,feel themselves responsible for their country,believe the rule of law,ready for improvement, have the high concious of environment and self confidence, participatory, questioning and have the 21st century digital skills.We aim to be an exemplary educational institution that educates individuals who are both scientifically and socially developed, have high moral values, and are ready for global competition, by constantly keeping the quality of education and training to raise effective and qualified people. We have an enthusiastic team eager to learn and create.Some of our teachers have participated in Comenius and erasmus projects before.Our school has been conducting local and national projects themed environment,health,social responsibility,science,art and sports succesfully.It has the label of “white flag”and “nutrition friendly school”.We are also carrying eTwinning projects with local and foreign partners.

“AUREL POP” Secondary School, Osorhei, Bihor County, Romania

Oşorhei commune is located in the central part of Bihor county, within the North-West Development Region. Oşorhei commune consists of five villages: Oşorhei (commune residence), Fughiu, Alparea, Cheriu and Felcheriu

“Aurel Pop” Secondary School is the biggest school in Osorhei commune. Also, to this school is rounded the primary school and kindergarten from Cheriu village as well as the kindergarten from Alparea and Fughiu villages. At the school in Osorhei commune, study 609 preschoolers and school children and teach 43 teachers. In Osorhei commune there is also a kindergarten with extended program where children serve lunch and sleep. The other kindergartens are open until 12:00. “Aurel Pop” Secondary School has two buildings, a small one where primary school students’ study. Also, there are the secretariat and accounting offices and a larger building where secondary students study and where the teachers’ room, the principal’s office, and the counseling office are located. In terms of facilities, the school has an ICT laboratory, 2 gyms, and a large sports field located behind the school. Primary students have a TV connected to Internet in each classroom.

The curriculum of secondary school students includes the study of subjects such as Romanian Language, Mathematics, English, French, Biology, History, Physics, Chemistry, Social education, PE, ICT, Religion, Art, Music.

Over time, various local, county, and inter-county projects have been carried out, among which we mention: “How to avoid Bullying?”, “Clean hands, healthy children!”, “Let’s keep our traditions alive”.
